The San Francisco Marathon took place for the first time in the year 1977. Since then the event has been taking place every year except in the year 1988. The marathon has been facing a big problem ever since it started and i.e. bandits. These people enter into the marathon without paying any fee or getting registered and they are able to enjoy running, drinking the free drinks and even win the medals. It is well known that the first woman who won the Boston Marathon was also a bandit. She sneaked into the marathon as females were not allowed to take part in the race.

They also get opportunity to cross the golden gate bridge without facing any thick traffic. The people want to sneak into the marathon as bandits due to many reasons. Some people don’t want to pay the money required for entry and some just do it for fun.

San Francisco Marathon shall be focused by the media and the thousands of runners taking part have a chance to come on TV. Unlike some other marathons this marathon does not have a special team for catching the bandits. These bandits often come out to run naked after drinking high amounts of alcohol.
